Kenny Dalsheimer founded The Groove Productions in 1996 after receiving his MA in Anthropology in 1985 and then teaching social studies for ten years at Carolina Friends School.  He splits his time directing and shooting locally inspired, Southern documentary films and producing  videos for community, arts education, and social justice organizations. He has also taught youth video workshops and believes in the power of  the media arts and documentary storytelling to engage and empower youth, promote self-reflection, and offer youth a voice to address personal, social justice and community issues.

In addition to his documentary projects, Kenny offers a range of video production services from shooting events and interviews to editing video footage and photographs to producing advocacy and educational videos.

And for those of you wondering about our biz name. . . Kenny learned during the making of his first film – Go Fast, Turn Left –  that ‘the groove’ is a racing term for the fastest, most efficient route around the race track. Hence, The Groove Productions.
